​CLASSES

Little Learners Preschool is open Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 12:30PM.  Our school year begins the Tuesday after Labor Day and ends the Friday before Memorial Day.  We follow the Loudoun County Public School calendar for holidays, teacher work days, and inclement weather.  We offer a two day, Thurs/Fri class for three year olds and a three day, Mon/Tue/Wed class for four and five year olds.  All children must be potty trained. Please note that there is not an option for a five day class.  Our two day class is designed for a childs introduction to preschool, while our three day class tends to be a more structured, Kindergarten Readiness program.  While each child learns at his/her own pace, basic academic goals for the school year are listed below.

Three Year Olds
Thurs/Fri

  • Identify uppercase letters

  • Know some letter sounds

  • Write first name

  • Identify numbers 1-10

  • Count to 20

  • Name colors and shapes

  • Compare and sort objects by color/shape/size

  • Hold a book and turn pages the correct way

  • Cut with scissors

Four and Five Year Olds

Mon/Tue/Wed

  • Identify upper and lowercase letters

  • Know letter sounds

  • Write uppercase letters and numbers 1-10

  • Count to 30

  • Draw basic shapes

  • Identify patterns

  • "Read" a book using the pictures/sight words

  • Cut along a line
